🚀 ICON UNSW × Lyra Hackathon

Theme: Finding ways to save time; the more personalized to your life, the better.
Build a project that solves a personalized productivity problem; whether it's automating a repetitive task, streamlining a hobby, or making your daily routine more efficient, we're looking for creative solutions that demonstrate measurable time savings.
If your project is shortlisted, you are invited to Lyra's office to make your final pitch in front of Lyra engineers on Saturday, July 25!
Requirements
All submissions must include the following:
✅ Working Project
If your project makes it past the shortlist, ensure that your project is functional, where you can demonstrate the core features described in your submission. AI-assisted development is encouraged, but you should understand and be able to explain your implementation.
🎥 1. Demo Video
Submit a 3–5 minute video showing:
- The problem you're solving
- A live demonstration of your project
- How someone would use it
- The measurable time saved compared to the existing workflow
This video will be used for the initial judging and shortlisting process.
📊 2. Demonstrated Time Savings
Your submission must clearly show:
- The original workflow
- Your improved workflow
- An estimate or measurement of the time saved
This can be shown through:
- A side-by-side comparison
- Timing both workflows
- Reasonable estimates backed by examples
The more convincing and measurable your improvement, the better.
📑 3. Presentation Slides
Include a short slide deck (around 5–8 slides) covering:
- The problem you identified
- Why you chose to solve it
- Your solution
- How it works
- Tech stack used
- AI tools, APIs, or frameworks used
- Challenges encountered
- Future improvements
💻 4. Source Code
Submit your project repository with a clear README explaining:
- How to run the project
- Installation steps
- Required dependencies
- Any setup instructions

Problem Relevance & Personal Creativity (40%)
Is it solving a genuine, niche problem? Is the solution personalized and thoughtful? Does it approach the problem in an interesting way? -
Time Saved (30%)
Does it significantly improve the workflow? Is the time saving clearly demonstrated? -
Technical Execution (20%)
Does the project work well? Is the implementation technically sound? -
Presentation & Demo (10%)
Clear communication Quality of the demo Ability to explain the project
